Spring Landscaping Tips
- As Spring emerges, you can begin the control of many damaging insects whose eggs are attached to the stems and trunks of your ornamental trees and plants. Use of a horticultural oil spray or pesticide may be be your best option to keep your plants healthy through the season.
- Winter damage can not be ignored. Broken branches, or the stub where an entire branch has broken off, must be pruned cleanly so the tree or shrub can heal properly.
- Improve the natural beauty of your landscape, Some trees you can plant for spring color: Redbud; Dog-wood; Chinese Dogwood; Magnolia; Crabapple; Serviceberry; Bradford Pear; Flowering cherry.
- We all remember to feed our lawns, and we get immediate satisfaction. Our plants don't dramatically show the results of feeding, but it is important! If you did not provide deep root-feeding last fall for your trees and shrubs... provide it now.
- No one likes crabgrass. That's why we apply control materials in the spring to prevent the crabgrass seeds from germinating. As a fully certified Massachussetts pesticide applicator, you can rest assured the job will be done right.
